A love story written in the stars at Waldenwoods.
The sun blazed overhead, the lake shimmered in the distance, and the grounds of Waldenwoods were alive with laughter, music, and a little bit of stardust. It was August 9th, and after nearly three years of planning, Marco and Pazely finally said “I do” in a celebration that was as heartfelt as it was cosmic.
I first met them back in the summer of 2023 for their engagement session, and even then it was clear how much thought, heart, and personality they’d pour into their big day. They’ve been dreaming about this moment for so long, and when it finally arrived at Waldenwoods, it was every bit as unique and beautiful as they are.
It was an intensely hot day, but you’d never know it from the way they lit up when they saw each other. Pazely’s dress was unlike anything I’ve ever photographed, a stunning black gown stitched with constellations, perfectly fitting their love for the stars, the moon, and all things celestial. Marco’s family traveled from Austria to be there, and yes, there were even a few lederhosen making an appearance among the guests. From start to finish, their day was filled with these deeply personal touches that made it completely their own.
Their ceremony was a blend of romance and cosmic wonder, with their own handwritten vows alongside quotes from Carl Sagan and Neil deGrasse Tyson. You could feel the weight and beauty of their words settle over the crowd like the warm summer air. The reception carried that same magic, soft lights, starry décor, and a sunset over the lake that seemed made just for them. We took full advantage, heading down to the water for golden hour portraits, and then later stepping out under the August Sturgeon Moon for the perfect night shot to close the day.
As the night wrapped up, they danced to “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls, surrounded by sparklers, drifting fog, and the cheers of their friends and family. The heat, the wait, and the years of planning all melted away into this incredible celebration that was equal parts joy, intimacy, and wonder.
Marco and Pazely, your wedding was a love letter to who you are together, adventurous, intentional, and a little bit cosmic. Thank you for letting me be the one to capture it all. I know the stars were smiling on you that night.
